Below is a list of what dancers will need in order to perform or compete.
Girl Option 1

Skirt and Blouse
This option can be used by any OAID student.
To make a skirt you should purchase turquoise or purple satin from Hobby Lobby. Cut 2 pieces of fabric to the correct length for your dancer, sew together at the sides, put elastic in the top, and hem the bottom. This is a very simple and inexpensive sewing project.
If you prefer not to sew you may purchase a skirt and headband from the school for $20. See Chelsea for more info.
Dancers who choose this option will also need to purchase a white button down blouse.
Girl Option 2

Dress
This option may be used by OAID students Level 2 and up.
To make the dress follow the directions below.
To make the dress please follow these directions. The pattern is Simplicity number 2834 dress C. Both kinds of satin are purchased from Hobby Lobby and should match the girls skirts exactly. Please be sure you buy the same satin so that all the dresses match. The outside of the dress is made entirely of purple satin with the exception of the collar which is made of turquoise satin (both top and underside). The lining of the sleeve cuffs and the lining of both the dress skirt and the jacket skirt are also turquoise satin. The lining of the bodice of both the dress and jacket and the lining of the jacket sleeves are purple lightweight cotton. We put a zipper in the back of the dress and took the elastic out to make it easier to get in and out of. There is medium weight interfacing (sew in not iron on) in the skirt of both the dress and the jacket, and light weight interfacing in the collar. Below is an estimate of how much of each fabric you will need for each dress size. Please note that these sizes run a little strange so make sure you go by measurements. There should be a chart on the back of the package that will tell you what size to make for what measurements.
